Preparation for liquid applied waterproofing.

May 19, 2021

The saying “failure to prepare is preparing to fail” is so important when it comes to liquid applied waterproofing.

That is why our guys are trained on the importance of surface preparation before we apply our Type A Liquid Applied Systems. In this clip Adam is clearing away laitance and other surface contaminates that are normal to find on a construction site. Laitance is made from cement and fine aggregates in concrete that rise to the surface as it cures, leaving a thin crust on the concrete’s exposed surface. In order to get to the concrete substrate, this must be cleared so we can apply our system and protect the structure.

We love seeing the finishing layer of liquid applied membrane – its smooth and continuous finish is transformative but applying this membrane is only as good as the substrate you put it on.
